"V in the Park"

An afternoon of fun activities and volunteering demonstrations on Sunday 3rd June in Sefton Park (near the Palm House) from 12:00noon until 5:00pm.

Clare - one of the volunteers on the day

Once upon the time in Sefton Park a bunch of nice people got together to celebrate Volunteers’ Week. There were smiling volunteers and cheerful staff from the Volunteer Centre Liverpool, under a white marquee welcoming organisation representatives and member of the public.

Those who turned up had the opportunity to get involved in volunteering demonstration such as hand massage (nice!), hanging basket making and the always very popular face painting! Not many people missed the chance to participate in our egg and spoon race and the wellies throwing competition, which brought lots of laughter and some good natured competition. And everybody was a winner, receiving some yummy sweets as a reward.

It was a perfect day, with even the sky being extra nice to us, by holding on to the rain until after the event.

Any chance that the VCL staff will let any of the kids have a go?
